Taking your custom measurements...
Measure the "Down Dog Length" by taking the distance from the top of one's shoulder bone to the bottom of one's ankle bone. The special, custom stitch allows one to align their body into the perfect down dog pose every time. The stitch also aides in maintaining balance as one starts to perspire, yielding superior grip through the custom length, slip-resistant stitch lines. Experienced yogis should measure the full expression of their down dog by using a tape measure to gauge the distance from the point at which the base of your fingers meet your palm to the ball of your foot while in position.
To measure one's hip width...stand at hip width distance (feet directly below your hips) and take the distance between the center of the balls of your feet.
For shoulder width take the measured distance between the base of your pointer fingers at shoulder distance in high plank.
Overall dimensions of the mat are 26" x 72", allowing you to use the mat over the top of a typical foam mat. The material is made from cow suede leather that has been custom tanned to yield a washable suede that is sweat and water resistant.
Care Instructions:
- Use a gentle wash cycle and a very small amount (no more than an ounce) of mild detergent to wash the mat in your home washing machine.
- Dry your mat using the delicate, low heat cycle in your clothing dryer until dry. This fully custom item can take 1 to 2 weeks for shipping; but it's worth the wait! The suede leather in this mat is made in Milwaukee, Wisconsin at Law Tanning Company...arguably the best suede tannery in the world.
- The mats are being sewn by Bree Bowers, owner of "Project M" a boutique clothing and fashion store on Milwaukee's trendy North Avenue.
