Chris Hoy, one of the greatest British Cyclists (and British Olympians) of all time was knighted over the passage of the New Year by the Queen of England. The triple gold medalist was also voted the best sports personality of 2008. For the last 100 years no Englishman (or Scot for that matter) has won that many Gold medals at a single Olympics.
