Paris-Nice: Rider Pull Outs
Today’s stage finds the peloton climbing up the categorie 2 Col de Murs almost immediately. So far 11 riders have pulled out of Paris-Nice. By the start of stage 4 we found the following riders had either withdrawn due to injuries or discomfort with the harsh conditions. Stage 4 pull outs: Heinrich Haussler (G), Cervélo TestTeam, Kévin Van Impe (B), Quick Step, Stage 3 pull outs: Grega Bole (Slo), Lampre-Farnese, Joaquin Novoa Menedez (Sp), Cervélo TestTeam, Marcel Sieberg (G), HTC-Columbia. Stage 2 pull outs: Danilo Napolitano (I), Katusha, Simone Ponzi (F), Lampre-Farnese, Hayden Roulston (NZ), HTC-Columbia, Stage 1 pull outs: Fredrik Kessiakoff (S), Garmin-Transitions. Prologue pull out: Gert Steegmans (Bel) Radioshack. If you have any of these riders on your team it’s time to trade them and get better riders! Stay tuned for the conclusion of today’s stage of Paris-Nice. The riders are about half way through and the rest of the stage could get dicey. Lots of short climbs, narrow roads, and fast descents await the peloton.
