Van Garderen Makes His Pro Debut |

Neo-pro Tejay Van Garderen makes his pro debut for HTC Columbia this season. Coming from the Rabobank U23 squad (of which he was the only American) was certainly not the usual way to go about becoming a pro. Then again there is nothing usual about Teejay. Here is an exerpt from his VeloNews interview Everyone thought I was really cool on Rabobank because I was the only American. They wanted to know things like, ‘Are the girls really hot in America?’ Or did you have high school parties like in ‘American Pie?’” he told VeloNews. “This is the team that I really idolized or past few years, especially with the way they’ve developed young riders.
